Well, maybe that
isn't technically true. You can make money online
without a list using Pay Per Click ads, through
affiliate programs, and with joint venture
partnerships.
Let me rephrase
that headline:
"You Can't Make Really BIG Money Online Without a
List!"
Now that is 100%
true. Your online earning power comes from having
your own information products, services, and
programs that you can market to your targeted,
ideal prospects. It's difficult to sell anything
online if you don't have a targeted list of
prospects. And your list must be clearly defined
and consist of people who are most like your ideal
clients.
Good News: You
can start growing a list of people who want to
hear from you right now, and have a substantial
list to email to in only 2-3 months.
Bad News: It's
getting harder to get permission from your
targeted prospects and clients to send them email;
people need enticements to hand over their email
addresses.
"How can I grow
my list? I send out a really good newsletter, but
less than 30-40 percent of my readers are opening
it up. I've got to reach more people."
We hear this problem daily. It doesn't matter how
good your messages are, you've got to work
smarter, not harder, at list building.

years, it's that you are only as good as your

Why is a list
so important? Because people need to hear from you
and get to know and trust you before they will
convert to clients. It's like going on a first
date, then a second, and so on. You can't ask for
marriage right away. You need to woo them first...
and give a lot of free information they can use,
just like flowers and gifts!
Unless you've
got a database of 100% raving fans, you are going
to need to build up a large list of people who

buy your products or hire you for services.

clear advantage over other businesses that are
marketing via the Internet.
Double your list? How about four times over?
In the last
three years, I have personally doubled my list…
four times! Yes, my list is 8 times bigger
than it was when I started using these tools and
the marketing systems I am going to tell you

What does that translate to in revenues? My
profits tripled in this previous year, and in the
first half of 2006, it looks like they are on
target to double…. And I am spending less time at
this, so I can concentrate on creating more
information products I can sell. I spend my time
writing and creating programs instead of trying to
grow my list.
It doesn't matter what other marketing you do;
ezine and email marketing are still a vital tool
in your marketing kit. While the size of your list
will never replace quality, growing your list is
essential to growing your business.
Okay, so how do you "grow a list?" It's simple but
not easy, and it becomes a little more complicated
with all the SPAM being sent these days. But if
you complete these three phases and put certain
tools into place, your list will steadily grow
without you having to do much, other than send out
fresh and relevant content your readers want.

Have a Free Newsletter? ... So What! ... Who Cares?
You can't just say, "Here's my free newsletter,
you should subscribe, it's free." But you already
know that. Today you've got to offer more than a
free ezine. You must give your prospect something
they can't get anywhere else on the Web, and
something that will really help them in their work
and lives. Some people run contests and give away
iPods. Others give away free reports and "insider
secrets."
Not only do you have to be clever and think this
through, you must put into place the
infrastructure that will handle subscribes,
unsubscribes, and manage your list for you
automatically. You will have to create
confirmation messages, thank you messages, and
autoresponders that will be able to segment your
list of prospects according to their interests and
purchases.
You see how this gets to be a little more
complicated? And for all of these steps, all of
these messages, you have a great opportunity to
market yourself and your products in a subtle,
conversational and relationship-building way!
